In this video, Salt River Elementary School Acting Principal Dr. Bryan “Coach” McCleney speaks to sixth grader Alonzo Lopez about a variety of topics, including advice to SRES newbies, thoughts about middle school, the importance of having a caring adult to speak to at school, upcoming SRES events (check out our Fun Run info below!), and what’s next for this video series, Coach’s Corner.


SAVE THE DATE: The SRES Heart Healthy Fun Run and I:bdak Playground Ribbon Cutting is Wednesday, February 12! Many special guests will be joining us, including Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community President Martin Harvier, as well as other members of the Tribal Council, fun mascots, and our friends from the 4-and 5-year-old classrooms at the Early Childhood Education Center! Check out this collage of some of the excitement building around the SRES campus in preparation for the event!

Families of students are invited to participate; the fun begins at 8:45 a.m. (the ribbon cutting begins at 10 a.m.) at SRES. Please be aware that during the Fun Run, the Salt River Police Department will close off Highland Avenue from Center Street to Country Club Drive.
