Dear SRES Families,
We begin this month by celebrating our wonderful staff and recognizing all mothers and mother-figures. The first full week of May (May 7-11) is
Educator Appreciation Week. One of the nicest gifts a student or parent/caregiver can give a teacher, bus driver, librarian or any school staff member is a letter or card of appreciation! Tell us: What do you appreciate about the educators in your life?
With the weather change and the end of the school year approaching, we are seeing some behaviors that could use a positive readjustment in some students. Families can encourage students to finish the school year strong by coming to school and being on time, completing homework assignments and remembering to follow school rules that help keep us safe and healthy.
The teachers and staff have talked with students and reminded them that we are looking for their
best behavior in the classrooms, on the playground, on the bus and all areas of their school day. We expect all students to behave in a respectful and safe manner. We are proud of students and their accomplishments and encourage everyone to finish their school year doing their best! We appreciate family support to help us remind students of this, as well.
Many thanks to Mrs. Charlie Stant and Mr. Fernando for all of their amazing efforts in coordinating the
SRES STEAM Expo held on April 30. We loved seeing all of the rockets and exhibitions! In addition, Ms. O’Neill exhibited fabulous works of art completed by students throughout the year in an Art Show on the same night, which can still be seen in the SRES cafeteria through the end of the school year (check it out!). We were thrilled that this event provided students an opportunity to create and share their projects.
We have many more events coming up and look forward to seeing you and your families!
Sincerely,
Dr. Guerrero
